THE CANYON LAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ...is an association of businesses and individuals organized to encourage a strong local economy and quality of life. It achieves this by promoting and advancing the civic, cultural, and educational development of the Canyon Lake area and providing a valuable forum for issues affecting local commerce and the general well being of our community. As small business owners, small business customers, and citizens who would just like to volunteer your support to the City of Canyon Lake's commercial community, benefits of membership include... The Canyon Lake Chapter of the Chamber of Commerce provides members a venue for mingling with fellow vendors, exploring commonalities, evaluating problems, and being part of the community at large. Plaques presented to each affiliate of our Chamber and displayed prominently at places of business confirm active community involvement. Our bi-monthly newsletter keeps the community informed of our activities and showcases local businesses. Members participate annually in selecting our board and honoring exceptional involvement via businesses and citizens of the year awards. We keep an eye on commerce friendly legislation, watch how our national, state and local representatives vote, and call attention to
elected and appointed local and state officials who are pro-business. With your support we are one voice in important places on issues that impact you! Our Chamber Office Coordinator fields thousands of phone calls annually seeking information regarding jobs and services - for which she promotes Chamber members. The office displays news of upcoming events and educational materials. Our future should include our own website and membership discount advantages among our vendors. Along with awards to businesses cited for exceptional service, we honor citizens who reflect the best of our community's integrity and volunteerism. We encourage residents to shop here first, keep Canyon Lake dollars in Canyon Lake. Opportunities to become involved abound among our task forces and projects. Along with our Ambassadors, our chapter is selectively focusing on national, state, and local legislative actions impacting small businesses. Other volunteers are active with Business Development, Membership, Programs, Awards, Fund Raising, Events, Promotions, Scholarship, and Administrative and Liaison groups. Vendors showcase their goods and/or services via our popular, informal monthly mixers. Annually we sponsor or participate in February's Awards Dinner, spring's golf tournament, Fiesta Days in May, the Misses Canyon Lake pageant in August with scholarship rewards (and it's fun, too!), a Business Showcase fair, the Halloween's Parade of Frights, and December's tree lighting ceremony. Late fall regional Chamber of Commerce members and guests enjoy a short cruise on a spectacular ocean liner - an unparalleled opportunity to broaden personal networking under pampered conditions. And as occasions dictate, we love ground breakings and ribbon cuttings welcoming new commerce to Canyon Lake. |
